Dak Prescott believes he should be on Cowboys hot seat if Mike McCarthy is



Dak Prescott informed some solidarity with his embattled head coach on Sunday night once the Cowboys fell well short of their goals in a loss to the Packers 48-32 in the Wild Card spurious of the playoffs. 

Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy is facing plenty of questions nearby his job security after Dallas was bounced from the playoffs early despite a 12-5 season. 

But Prescott stepped in afterward and told journalists that if McCarthy was on the hot seat, he must be too.

“He’s been amazing,” Prescott said. “I don’t know how there can be [questions nearby his job], but I understand the business. In that case, it must be about me as well, honestly. That guy, I’ve had the season I’ve had because of him. This team has had the unsuccessful they’ve had because of him. I understand it’s nearby winning the Super Bowl, and that’s the standard of the targeted and damn sure should be the standard of this attach. I get it, but add me to the list in that case.”

Prescott threw for 403 yards on 41 completions and three touchdowns, but he also threw two interceptions in the loss. 

The Cowboys have imparted to make it further than the divisional round in three honest seasons despite recording 12 wins in each campaign. 

The Cowboys QB had an  MVP-caliber 2023, throwing a league-leading 36 touchdowns, which led to reports that Prescott and the team would win in contract extension talks that could make him the highest-paid quarterback in the NFL. 

But the lack of postseason unsuccessful raises the question of whether team owner Jerry Jones will want to commit that type of cash to Prescott after 2024. 

“I really haven’t thought nearby this at all. So, I won’t comment on it proper I haven’t thought about it,” Jones told reporters, according to Pro Football Talk. “My uncompleted thought for the last several weeks have totally been about anticipating and planning on advancing from this game to novel game here at the stadium since we found out we were touching to have this home field. So I’m going to back to the uncompleted bottom of my thought process to think about anything novel than next week’s game here.”

Jones will have plenty of time to figure out his organization’s next steps at what time the loss on Sunday.
